Preservation
Over the past 25 years, Daniel P. Coffey & Associates, Ltd., the 2003 AIA Chicago Architecture Firm of the Year, has developed a reputation for high quality, innovative work in a variety of complex and diverse areas of architecture and design. These often include historic restoration and preservation of Landmark quality buildings. The complexity of these projects sometimes requires extensive research into the original plan, structure, construction, materials, details and colors of missing or ‘improved’ elements of the building. When original fabric of the building has been unaltered it requires careful and thoughtful repair, restoration and replication of elements that have deteriorated or been abused by time or inattentive care. We have taken numerous projects through the certification process for receipt of tax credits by the Owner.
