Quabbin Resort - Berkshires, Mass.

This planned community is a 50-acre redevelopment of a former state school for the mentally handicapped. This project will be LEED certified and will utilize geothermal and recirculated grey waters. Retention of key 100-year old trees, Communal Open Space and formal landscaped areas are key to the planning. A nearby golf course will be re-branded to go with this resort. It includes restoration and adaptive re-use of several ‘landmark quality’ structures and replanning of the rest of the site to include:
