DePaul Music & Theatre Master Plan

With its inadequate physical plant for the School of Music and the Theatre School, DePaul University commissioned Daniel P. Coffey & Associates, Ltd. to study various options for relocation and improvement. The space and performance needs were identified for each school.  In addition to artistic space for instruction, rehearsal and general use, other classroom, academic office and support spaces and their space and technical requirements were reviewed and assembled into a program for future use. Then several potential sites were examined, one at the downtown Loop campus and one at the Lincoln Park Campus. Each considered institutional partnering with active arts producing companies (Chicago Symphony and Victory Gardens Theatre Company). A total of 6 presentation venues were proposed. Three would be for music and three for drama were contemplated in various sizes and configurations.
