Design Philosophy
As recipient in 2003 of the prestigious designation as ‘American Institute of Architecture’s Chicago Firm of the Year’, it was noted that the consistently high quality of the firm’s design work was importantly matched by the beneficial impact the projects have had in enhancing the physical, social, economic and cultural environments within which the projects sit. It has always been a goal of the firm’s design work that it is “noticed” while also comfortably “fitting” into its context. A hallmark of the firm’s work is its ability to have the design make a difference in the lives of users, owners and visitors. Sustainability, functionality, efficiency, and constructability are equally important as is the firm’s emphasis on communication and being “on time and on budget”.
